Renting an RV for your Beach Vacation

Did you know you don’t even have to drive it? Let’s explore how to rent an RV for your beach vacation near Navarre, Florida and what to bring.

Websites to Find RV Listings to Rent

You can go to websites like Outdoorsy, Good Sam or RV Share and rent an RV that someone will take to the RV park of your choice and set it up for you. You simply bring your items like you would anywhere else and enjoy your vacation!

How Do I Rent an RV for a Beach Vacation?

The process starts out by choosing an RV and requesting to rent it from the owner. This is typically done through a message to the owner to check availability and ask any questions you have about their RV listing. They’ll most likely want to know where you’ve booked an RV spot, how big your group is and a basic overview of what your plans are (i.e. family vacation, friends going to a concert, etc).

Renting an RV Spot

You’ll need to reserve a spot for the RV owner to drop off your RV to. Vacations spots like Navarre, Florida have tons of options and are happy to answer questions. Plus, they are used to working with RV renters. Most of their websites include FAQs to assist, as well. Just make sure the sport is big enough for the RV you’ve chosen to rent.

What Kinds of Risks are There to Renting an RV?

To cover both the renter and RV owner in case of damage during your trip you will have an insurance policy in place. This is typical for all rentals through these websites and is very inexpensive. The rental company will direct you to this simple policy to cover any accidents. This includes driving accidents or smaller items like damage to an awning or other items.

What to Bring on the Trip

Renting an RV is very similar to renting an AirBNB. Most listings come with the linens, dishes, etc. You’ll need to check the listing to see specifics like if it has a toaster, coffee maker, specific cookware, outdoor chairs, towels, etc. That will help you with your packing list. Other items you might consider include beach supplies (tent, chairs, wagon), cooler, toiletries and more. This will all be based on the group you are traveling with and your itinerary.
