When you’re planning a beach vacation at Navarre Beach Florida you probably dream of relaxing. However, you’ll need the beach supplies, beach toys and beach games to make that happen. In this blog post we will go over our favorite beach chairs, carts, coolers, umbrellas, tents, canopies, toys and more. One of the great parts about Navarre Beach is the opportunity to place anything you don’t want to take home into a bin just outside the bathroom and wash off area so other people can enjoy them. It’s a great opportunity to recycle beach accessories rather than just trashing them. Also, be sure to check with the place you are staying to see what they offer. Many of the Navarre vacation rentals offer beach supplies you can borrow or rent.

Beach Chairs

Beach chairs are made different than your typical lawn chair. They typically sit lower, have pockets for cell phones and other accessories and are a backpack style so you can carry all your other beach supplies. We love the Tommy Bahama 2 Pack. It gives you two chairs, is stylish and great quality. Plus, you can’t beat the price. Other benefits are the rustproof aluminum (very important in Florida where there’s plenty of salt and moisture in the air) and a pouch for your drink.

Beach Cart

The perfect beach cart depends on your plans at the beach. If you want a cart you can use for sports and other family activities, the Moon Lence Collapsible Outdoor Utility Wagon is a good option. If folds up small to fit with everything else you’re traveling with and has plenty of space to hold everything. Much better than trying to carry a bunch of bags and wrangle the family!

The next option up is the TOURFUN Beach Dolly Cart. You’ll notice a lot of the balloon wheels out on Navarre Beach due to the sand being so soft and typical tires sinking in. These balloon wheels make it easy to get around. This style, also, folds up small to fit into tight spaces in your vehicle.

The last option we’ll look at is the Sea Striker Balloon Tire Surf and Beach Cart, made for someone who does it all on the beach, especially fishing! There are pipes on the sides to put your fishing poles in, balloon tires to get around easily and plenty of space in the cart for your cooler, towels, toys and more.

Cooler

A must have at the beach is a cooler. It’s hot in Navarre Florida, so you better stay hydrated! Let’s review a few different styles of cooler options.

First there’s the EVERFUN backpack cooler. Great for a family who is always on the go at the beach, sports, hiking, etc. This is one that you will definitely reuse. Capacity is 30 cans. Plenty of room for drinks and snacks. Plus, there are other compartments to stash items in that you don’t want to get wet.

Next is the Yeti with wheels is the ultimate cooler, great for a larger group heading out for the day. This one is durable, easy to transport and big enough for drinks and food for everyone. They even sell dividers to help with organization within the cooler.

Finally, there’s the beach back with a cooler in the bottom. This is great for a girl’s day or just a quick trip to the beach. This option is simple for throwing a bag together and taking out to the beach for an hour or two.

Beach Umbrella, Canopy or Tent

A common question we get is, “do I need an umbrella or tent?” Well, if you plan to be out on the beach for more than a couple hours you are going to want some protection. It may seem strange, but the sun is different on a Florida beach. It’s close and you will bake without protection. Let’s discuss your best options to handle the sun and the wind.

The Venustas Beach Tent is a cabana style tent with a bottom layer to keep you off the sand. We see a lot of young families use this, especially if you have a baby or toddler who needs to nap while the family is at the beach. It comes with stakes and has a shape that helps endure the wind. Also, it backs down to a compact bag less than 5 pounds. A simple one to throw in and go.

The umbrella is the most common that you will see at the beach. This one has an anchor and screws in. It says level 7 wind, but we find that you will fight the umbrella much more than you would a canopy.

The canopy option is our favorite. It allows you the ability to adjust the setup of your tent based on the wind direction and how large you would like it to be. The poles fold up into a tight bag. Corners are secured with bags that you’ll fill with sand there at the beach as you set it up.

Toys and Games for Navarre Beach

Skipball is one of our favorites. It’s small, just throw it in the bag and go. You do need to get in the water to play with it, but it provides tons of fun whether you are playing on the sound side or the beach side. We even enjoy docking our boat, sitting on the edge and throwing it back and forth with our kids in the water.

General sand toys are a must for the younger kids. This means shovels, sand molds, buckets and other plastic goodies. Here’s a fun pack that includes a bag to carry them in.

Slammo has been a family favorite of ours. The little kids and even the grandparent enjoy it. Sometimes we get competitive and draw out spaces for everyone to stay in. Other times it’s just a leisure game while we’re hanging out. Regardless, it’s a lightweight game that the kids can carry out to the beach and everyone enjoys.

The last few items you’ll need to throw in are snacks, sunscreen and towels. We cannot stress enough to coat on that sunscreen so you don’t regret it later. We recommend putting on cream before you head out and then taking a bottle of spray for reapplication a couple hours later.
