Navarre Beach
Navarre Beach Florida has something for everyone. From very public to private, party areas, restaurants, bars, boat ramp, weddings, fishing areas, hotels, condos, bathrooms, wash offs, sea turtle conservation center, lifeguards and more. You can even take advantage of two different aspects of the beach: the sound side and the ocean side.
The sound side is the area of water between Navarre Beach and Navarre. This is the calmer side that some might compare to a lake. If it’s windy, big waves and/or red flag flying on the main public beach, you can head over to the sound side (Juana’s and across the street) for a more peaceful piece of water.
On the beach side you can hang out by the pier, where you’ll see many people out fishing, taking pictures, collecting seashells, swimming, grabbing food and drinks at Windjammers, etc. If you’d like a more private portion of the beach you can head to the last pavilion area. That is where the fisherman typically go since there is a zoned area for fishing. Another option for a more private day at the beach is to drive down Navarre Beach and pull off at one of the parking lots. Those, however, do not typically have a bathroom or wash off.
Opal Beach

A couple miles down the road from Navarre Beach Florida you will find Opal Beach. This beach has a guard shack and entrance fee. It is free for the military, a fee for civilians (approx. $25/day or you can buy a year pass that gets you into Opal and other locations). Once inside you’ll find multiple parking lots, bathrooms, wash-offs, picnic pavilions and generally not a lot of people. Walk down a little way and you will most likely have the place to yourself. It is truly paradise.
Gulf Islands National Seashore

Gulf Islands National Seashore is the 150-mile stretch of seashore, which runs from Cat Island in Mississippi to Santa Rosa Island in Florida. The location near Navarre Florida would not be considered your typical beach. It’s more of a quiet place to enjoy nature for a picnic, bike ride, nature walk on a trail and more. The park is well maintained and you will find bathroom facilities here.
Woodlawn Boat Ramp and Oriole Boat Ramp
The final two on the list of Navarre Beaches are actually boat ramps. Google will show them when you look up beaches, so we wanted to clarify with our list. At these boat ramps you will typically see locals walk or bike ride to for a view of the water or evening out fishing. However, you won’t see them swimming. Again, this is a boat ramp, not a beach area. However, you can drop your boat in and beach across from the ramp where there are miles of “private” beaches. Plus, you just might have some dolphins swim in your wake along the way!
Be safe and enjoy Navarre!
